Our restaurant came before the hotel. Quite simply creating a place where you come and enjoy great food and drink in relaxing and comfortable surroundings is and always has been our aim. Scrub-top tables, flagstone and wooden floors provide a relaxed and convivial environment for dining in the casual bar and dining room areas while our gardens and terrace are perfect Summer alfresco dining. Think restaurant in disguise as a pub!
We don't count how many calories are in a dish but we will spend a lot of time trying to get the best out of the ingredients. For chef Adam and Maitre ‘d Eliott (both local lads), it’s all about creating dishes that put a smile on your face served by a team with a smile on theirs! Unfussy, clean & simple dishes all prepared from fresh local produce is what you may expect together with an eclectic wine list inspired mainly by independent producers.
Enjoy an English tradition in the very finest sense with one of The Blazing Donkey’s famously indulgent afternoon clotted cream teas. Each afternoon, we bring out the best crockery, the finest teas (and coffee, if you're feeling adventurous), a splendid selection of finger sandwiches and of course our amazing scones and cakes. Afternoon tea is available everyday from midday until 6pm, booking is essential.
